About JIS College of Engineering
History and Background
About JIS College of Engineering, Kalyani JIS College of Engineering (JISCE) is in Kalyani, in Nadia district, West Bengal, north of Kolkata. It started on 13 July 2000 as the flagship engineering college of the JIS Group. Sardar Jodh Singh's group runs businesses in several sectors, and in eastern India it has grown into a large network of colleges and schools. JISCE is approved by AICTE and affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT). The UGC granted it autonomous status on 31 October 2011 and extended it in 2017, so the college designs its own syllabus and conducts its own exams. NAAC first accredited it with an A grade in 2015. Undergraduate engineering covers: B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering and Information Technology B.Tech Electronics and Communication and Electrical Engineering B.Tech Mechanical, Civil and Biomedical Engineering The college also runs M.Tech programmes in areas such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Power Systems and Mechanical Engineering, plus BCA and BBA (Hons). Most B.Tech seats are filled through WBJEE counselling, and JEE Main scores are also accepted. M.Tech admission uses GATE, and management applicants can apply with CAT and similar tests.
