About IIT Gandhinagar: The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar, commonly referred to as IIT Gandhinagar , came into existence in the academic year 2008 as one of the eight new IITs. The sole institution from Gujarat to be listed among the top 1,000 institutions in the study is IITGN . IIT Gandhinagar has been granted the recognition of an institute of national importance by the Government of India. The institute has been approved by the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
