About Young Man Christian Association (YMCA), Delhi The New Delhi YMCA was founded in 1927 and works from Jai Singh Road in central Delhi as a youth-focused service organisation. Its values come from Christian teaching, and alongside sports, hostels and community work it runs an education centre that offers job-oriented and professional courses for young people in the city. The best-known part of that education centre is the New Delhi YMCA Institute of Management Studies (IMS), founded in 1972 under Prof. A. Dasgupta. IMS courses follow the National Credit Framework under NEP 2020, and several are affiliated with the Management and Entrepreneurship and Professional Skills Council of the Government of India. The YMCA also runs a programme centre in Greater Noida, opened in 2005. Courses are short and practical, with diplomas and certificates rather than university degrees. The range includes: One-and-a-half-year diploma in Hospitality and Hotel Management Diploma in Travel, Tourism and Airport Handling Fashion design courses, including pattern making, styling and merchandising Interior design courses, from a foundation course to AutoCAD and residential interiors Certificate courses in cabin crew training, banking and finance, logistics, data analytics and cloud computing Diploma and certificate courses in management and broadcast journalism Admission is direct. Students can download the prospectus, book a phone session with a counsellor and apply to the YMCA education centre, without a national entrance test for most courses. Fees are kept affordable, and teachers include working professionals from each industry.
