History and Background
About Vidyavati Mukand Lal Girls College, Ghaziabad Vidyavati Mukand Lal Girls College, known locally as VMLG College, has been teaching women in Ghaziabad since 1961. It was founded by the educationist Seth Shri Jai Prakash and is managed by Vidya Kendra, a registered society. The college is affiliated to Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut, and is a grant-in-aid institution recognised by the UGC under Sections 2(f) and 12(B). VMLG was first accredited by NAAC in 2004 and was re-accredited with an A grade in 2013, with its Department of Education separately graded A. The UGC named it a College with Potential for Excellence in 2007 and again in 2014. Its guiding phrase is "Vidya, Vinay, Vivek". Departments cover arts, commerce, science, education and home science, at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Some of the programmes on offer: B.A. with subjects including Political Science and Library Science, and M.A. Political Science B.Com and M.Com B.Sc. Home Science and M.Sc. Home Science (Food and Nutrition) B.Ed. and M.Ed. in the Department of Teacher Education Admission follows the CCS University process. Applicants first register on the university's admission portal and then register separately with the college, and fees are taken online only.
