About University Institute of Technology, Bhopal The University Institute of Technology (UIT) is the engineering institute of Barkatullah University. It sits on the university campus on Hoshangabad Road in Bhopal. It started in August 1997 under the name College of Engineering. It is self-financing and runs as a constituent institute of the university, so its degrees are awarded by Barkatullah University. AICTE approves its B.E., M.Tech and MCA programmes. UIT runs five undergraduate and six postgraduate programmes, along with diploma courses in newer areas of engineering and technology. The B.E. is its main programme.
