About The Neotia University
History and Background
About The Neotia University, Kolkata The Neotia University (TNU) is a private university at Sarisa on Diamond Harbour Road, in South 24 Parganas, with a city office on Topsia Road in Kolkata. It was set up under West Bengal Act XXIII of 2014 and is recognised by the UGC under Section 2(f). The university is an initiative of the Kolkata-based AmbujaNeotia Group, and its chancellor is Harshavardhan Neotia. The campus covers about 50 acres and has more than 4,300 students from India and abroad. TNU says one of its aims is to reach talented students from rural Bengal, and it requires every student to complete an internship each year. Its programmes need approval from several regulators, and the list is unusually broad for a young university: Science and technology, including B.Tech in CSE with specialisations in AI and robotics, AI and cyber security, and AI and machine learning Maritime studies, approved by the Directorate General of Shipping Agriculture, where TNU was the first private university in West Bengal to get ICAR accreditation for B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture Legal studies (BCI approved), pharmacy (PCI approved) and nursing (INC and West Bengal Nursing Council) Health sciences, hospitality and culinary arts, humanities, management and social sciences Vocational diplomas and B.Voc degrees in automobile servicing, healthcare, electronics and hospitality Admission is handled by the university, with separate helplines for the Sarisa campus and the Kolkata office. Students in regulated streams such as pharmacy, nursing and law must meet the eligibility norms of those councils. TNU reports an 89 percent placement rate for 2024 and a highest salary of Rs 24 lakh a year, with over 600 companies linked to it for internships and jobs. The residential campus has hostels for more than 1,100 boys and 550 girls, a swimming pool, separate gyms and a round-the-clock doctor.
