History and Background
About St Vincent Pallotti College of Engineering & Technology, Nagpur St Vincent Pallotti College of Engineering and Technology, often shortened to SVPCET, stands on a 19-acre campus at Gavsi Manapur on Wardha Road, on the southern side of Nagpur. The Nagpur Pallottine Society opened it in 2004. The Pallottines are a Catholic religious order, and the college has Christian minority status. SVPCET is an autonomous institute affiliated to Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University. AICTE and the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra, have approved it, and NAAC has accredited it with an A grade. Since it is autonomous, its B.Tech and M.Tech courses run on its own academic regulations, which it publishes every year. The undergraduate list is long for a college of its age. There are twelve B.Tech programmes, including: Computer Science and Engineering, plus Data Science and Cyber Security options Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science and Business Systems, and Industrial IoT Information Technology and Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Mechanical, Electrical and Civil Engineering It also runs two vocational degree programmes in cyber security and software development, six postgraduate programmes, and PhD research centres in Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science. First-year B.Tech seats are filled through the Maharashtra CAP rounds based on MHT CET or JEE Main. Some seats are kept under the minority quota and schemes such as TFWS.
