About Sri Sairam Engineering College
History and Background
About Sri Sairam Engineering College, Chennai Sri Sairam Engineering College was founded in 1995 by MJF Ln. Leo Muthu, chairman of the Sapthagiri Educational Trust. The college is a non-profit, non-minority institution, and its founder took inspiration from the teachings of Shirdi Sai Baba. The campus has grown into a cluster of academic blocks, labs, a digital library block and a sports complex spread over about 300 acres. Sri Sairam is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai, and approved by AICTE. NAAC has accredited it with an A+ grade, and all of its undergraduate programmes hold NBA accreditation. The college takes students from all over Tamil Nadu and from other states, both from cities and from rural areas. The B.E. and B.Tech programmes cover: Computer Science and Engineering and Information Technology Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Electronics, and Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering Mechanical Engineering and other core branches Postgraduate courses include M.E. specialisations in areas such as Computer Science and Power Electronics, along with an MCA. The Sri Sairam Institute of Management, set up in 1997 as a unit of the college, runs the MBA programme. Undergraduate seats go through TNEA counselling based on Class 12 marks, plus the management quota. M.E., MBA and MCA admissions use TANCET, and GATE is accepted for M.E.
