History and Background
About Sree Narayana Gurukulam College of Engineering (SNGCE), Ernakulam SNGCE is a self-financing engineering college in Ernakulam district, Kerala, which opened in 2002. Its management is the Sree Narayana Gurukulam Charitable Trust, which works under the SNDP Kunnathunadu Union based in Perumbavoor. The college is approved by AICTE, accredited by NAAC, and affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. Its B.Tech degrees run for eight semesters under the KTU scheme. Eight engineering departments share a single campus, and a PhD research centre works alongside them. Undergraduate branches include Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication, and Computer Science and Engineering. The college also offers less common branches such as Marine Engineering and Naval Architecture and Ship Building. Postgraduate courses cover M.Tech (with options like VLSI, Cyber Security, Machine Design and CAD/CAM), MBA and MCA. A dual BCA plus MCA track is also available. Students joining the B.Tech course usually come in through KEAM and the Kerala state allotment, or through the management quota. M.Tech admission is mostly based on GATE, and MBA applicants can apply with MAT or the state KMAT score. Outside the classroom, the college has an NSS unit, a student chapter of the Energy Conservation Society and yearly cultural festivals.
