About SKR Engineering College, Chennai SKR Engineering College is in Nazarathpet, near Poonamallee, on the western side of Chennai. It is a private college that started in 2001, with engineering, computer applications and management courses. The four-year BE is available in Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, and Electronics and Communication Engineering. Postgraduate courses are an ME in Computer Science and Engineering and an ME in VLSI Engineering (36 seats each), an MCA, and an MBA with 60 seats. Students can apply through TNEA for the BE, GATE or TANCET for the ME, TANCET for the MCA, and TANCET or CAT for the MBA. The BE tuition fee on record is Rs 70,000 a year, plus Rs 18,500 a year for books and Rs 58,000 a year for the hostel. MCA tuition and the MBA fee are each Rs 35,000 a year.
