About SIES School of Business Studies
History and Background
SIES School of Business Studies (SIES SBS) is a business school on the Nerul campus of the South Indian Education Society in Navi Mumbai. It became a separate institution from its parent, the SIES College of Management Studies, in 2020, but its PGDM programme dates back to 1996. The PGDM in Pharmaceutical Management followed in 1997 and the PGDM in Biotechnology in 2006. SIES SBS describes itself as the first business school in India to start a dedicated PGDM vertical for the pharmaceutical industry. The South Indian Education Society was founded in 1932 by M. V. Venkateshwaran with just six students. It has since grown into a group of institutions with more than 15,000 students, including schools, arts and science colleges, management, packaging and environment institutes, and an engineering college. Besides its PGDM programmes, SIES SBS runs AIMA PGDM programmes and an 11-month Post Graduate Program in Logistics Management. It states that its academic programmes have the support of the corporate sector, and it aims to develop managers ready for the needs of the 21st century.
