About Shaheed Bhagat Singh College of Engineering & Technology, Firozpur The Government of Punjab opened Shaheed Bhagat Singh College of Engineering and Technology in Ferozepur in 1995. The institution has changed form twice since then. In 2011-12 it became the Shaheed Bhagat Singh State Technical Campus, and in 2021-22 it was upgraded to a state university under the name Shaheed Bhagat Singh State University (SBSSU). Students applying today will find it under that new name. The campus covers about 98 acres on the Ferozepur-Moga Road (NH-5), roughly four kilometres outside Ferozepur city, close to the India-Pakistan border. Its programmes are approved by AICTE and the UGC, depending on the course. The engineering wing has departments of Civil, Mechanical, Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Chemical Engineering, and there is also a B.Arch programme. Other courses include: M.Tech in Computer Science, Electronics and Communication and Mechanical Engineering BCA, MCA, PGDCA, B.Sc and MBA Engineering diplomas through a separate polytechnic wing PhD programmes in several departments B.Tech admission follows state rules, generally on JEE Main or a qualifying merit list, and lateral entry is open to diploma holders. M.Tech seats are filled mainly through GATE. The university publishes an information brochure every year with eligibility, fees and seat details for each course.
