About Scott Christian College
History and Background
Scott Christian College traces its roots to a school that Rev. William Tobias Ringeltaube of the London Missionary Society founded at Mylaudy in 1809. In 1893 it became a second-grade college affiliated to the University of Madras, with twelve students. Its first principal was Rev. Dr. James Duthie. The college joined the University of Travancore in 1938 and started degree courses in 1950. It is now an autonomous college in Nagercoil affiliated to Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli.
