About Santaji Mahavidyalaya
History and Background
About Santaji Mahavidyalaya, Nagpur Santaji Mahavidyalaya was founded in June 1971 and is run by Shri Santaji Shikshan Vikas Sanstha. The college is on Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Marg near Chhatrapati Square in New Sneh Nagar, Nagpur, and is affiliated to Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University. NAAC has assessed the college several times. It received a B grade in 2004 and again in 2011, an A grade in 2017, and a B++ grade in 2023, valid until January 2028. Santaji has also served as a mentor college under NAAC's Margadarshan scheme, which helps other colleges prepare for accreditation, and it has hosted faculty development programmes under that scheme. The college offers undergraduate courses in arts, commerce, science and professional subjects. Some programmes are taught in Marathi, which suits many students from Nagpur and the surrounding districts: B.A. (Marathi medium), as per NEP 2020 B.Com in Marathi medium and in English medium B.Sc, as per NEP 2020 BCA, approved by AICTE BBA, approved by AICTE For BCA and BBA, first-year seats are filled through the Maharashtra CAP process using MAH-BCA/BBA CET scores, and the college then admits students with a non-zero CET score against any CAP vacancies. Other courses follow the university's admission rules based on Class 12 results. The college runs the state's Career Katta scheme for career guidance and was named the third best college at the Nagpur district level for it, while its principal won the district's best principal award for the scheme. The NSS unit holds drives such as a de-addiction campaign each year.
