About Sant Baba Bhag Singh University (SBBSU), Jalandhar Sant Baba Bhag Singh University is a private state university near Dera Sant Pura Jabbar, close to Adampur Doaba in Jalandhar district, Punjab. It was established under the Sant Baba Bhag Singh University Act, 2014 (Punjab Act No. 6 of 2015). The UGC recognises it under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, and it is ISO 9001:2015 certified. The university grew out of the work of the Sant Baba Bhag Singh Memorial Charitable Society, led by Sant Baba Malkit Singh Ji. The society first built roads and bridges and put up street lights in villages around the dera. It moved into education in 2003 with the SBBS Institute of Engineering and Technology. A school followed in 2004 and a college of education in 2005, along with other institutes. These were later brought together as the university. The engineering college, set up in 2003, is the oldest part of the university. Programmes now span several faculties: B.Tech in Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil and Agricultural Engineering B.Sc (Medical, Non-Medical and Agriculture) and B.Sc in Hotel Management BBA, BA, BA LLB and B.Ed Postgraduate and doctoral programmes in several departments B.Tech admission takes JEE Main scores as well as the university's own merit process. Management applicants can use the Punjab MET, and other courses admit on Class 12 or graduation marks. The university has hosted a NAAC peer team visit and lists its approvals from the various regulators on its website.
