History and Background

About Rosary College of Commerce and Arts, Goa Rosary College of Commerce and Arts is at Navelim in Salcete, South Goa, about 2.5 km from the market town of Margao. The Archdiocese of Goa and Daman established it in June 1990, and it is managed by the Diocesan Society of Education as a minority institution under Article 30(1). The college is affiliated to Goa University. NAAC has re-accredited Rosary College with an A grade and a CGPA of 3.21 on a four-point scale. The campus covers about four acres. Classrooms have projectors and interactive panels, and there are computer labs and a large library. The college has also been named the best college in sports at the Goa University level. Courses are mainly in commerce, business and the arts. Students can take the B.Com, with regular and repeat batches for final-year exams, the B.A., and a Bachelor of Business Administration with a Travel and Tourism focus. Admission to these undergraduate programmes follows Goa University rules and is based on Class 12 results, with forms issued by the college each year. The college says its aim is to educate young men and women, with special attention to students from minority and underprivileged groups, and to make them employable. It brings out a research journal called GYANA: Journal of Management, Commerce and Interdisciplinary Research, and runs it alongside its regular teaching.
