About Radharaman Engineering College
History and Background
About Radharaman Engineering College, Bhopal Radharaman Engineering College (REC) is the second engineering college of the Radharaman Group of Institutes (RGI). It shares the group's campus at Ratibad, off Bhadbhada Road, on the edge of Bhopal. Tapasya Shiksha Samiti set it up in the mid-2000s, a few years after the group's first college, Radharaman Institute of Technology and Science. The group profile dates REC to 2005, and the college's own page gives 2006. It has now been teaching engineers for close to two decades. REC is approved by AICTE and affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV), Bhopal. Courses are offered at three levels: B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Electronics, Civil and Mechanical Engineering M.Tech in Computer Science and Civil Engineering Diplomas in Civil and Electrical and Electronics Engineering There is also an MBA. The college publishes its branch-wise intake and AICTE approval documents online. Training is a big part of the RGI model. The placement department, guided by Dr. R. L. Gupta, a former principal of MANIT Bhopal, sends students for industrial training at BHEL, CPRI, Indian Railways, MPEB, BSNL, Doordarshan, Akashvani and the Tractor Training and Testing Centre at Budni. RGI has also run centralised placement drives open to students from other RGPV engineering colleges in the state, and has brought in companies such as Ashok Leyland and Mahindra and Mahindra. The group has a Best Placement Award from the Madhya Pradesh government.
