The college says it was founded on 11 September 2001 by Dr. M.R. Doreswamy to serve rural Rayalaseema. It says it is permanently recognised by the Medical Council of India and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, and that it offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
