Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology was established in the year 2006 by the Vidyapeeth Education . PIET has achieved many milestones of success, it is among some of the best Engineering colleges in Haryana and National Capital region. PIET Panipat is a multidisciplinary institute affiliated to the Kururkshetra University, Kurukshetra and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. It is one of the top institutes in Delhi NCR, Haryana situated on National Highway No- 1 near Samalkha, and is about 21 Kms from Panipat and 5o Kms from Karnal-Delhi bypass and easily approachable by rail and road. The institute has a centralized library as well as several departmental libraries to provide a great learning environment to the students. The college also runs a book bank providing learning books to students from economically weaker section of the society. The campus is well equipped with a number of laboratories. There are hostels for both girls and boys where the students reside comfortably. The boys' hostel has the capacity of about 200 boys whereas the girls' hostel can house 50 girls.
