History and Background
About New Prince Shri Bhavani College of Engineering and Technology, Chennai New Prince Shri Bhavani College of Engineering and Technology (NPSBCET) is on Vengaivasal Main Road at Gowrivakkam, near Sembakkam and Santhosapuram on the Tambaram–Velachery corridor in south Chennai. The college says it has been running since 2008. It is sponsored by the Tmt. Abaranjee Ammal Educational Society, which also runs New Prince Shri Bhavani Arts and Science College in Medavakkam and several New Prince schools in Ullagaram and Adambakkam. The college teaches engineering, technology and management. Its programmes are: B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering, CSE (Cyber Security), Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication, and Mechanical Engineering B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, and Information Technology MBA, covering finance, marketing, HR, operations, business analytics and entrepreneurship MCA Applications can be made online through the college website, which also publishes the fee structure, academic calendar, curriculum and regulations. In April 2025, AICTE sanctioned an IDEA Lab for the college under its Idea Development, Evaluation and Application scheme. The lab gives students and faculty space and equipment for design, prototyping and testing. The college also has an Institution's Innovation Council, an entrepreneurship development cell and an IPR cell, and it organised the ICDDASE 2026 conference. Students can join professional chapters such as CSI, IEEE, IEI, IETE, ISTE and ISA. The central library offers OPAC, DELNET, NPTEL and National Digital Library of India access, along with a digital library section. Boys and girls stay in separate hostels. Students can take part in NSS, NCC and the Youth Red Cross, as well as eco and cultural clubs. A training and placement cell runs aptitude and communication training, internship support and placement drives.
