About Maya Devi University, Dehradun Maya Devi University is a private university at Selaqui, in the Pharma City area on the western side of Dehradun along NH-72. It started in 2010 as the Maya Group of Colleges. In 2024 it became a university under the Uttarakhand Private University (Amendment) Act 2024 (Act No. 05 of 2024). Shri Manohar Lal Juyal is its president, and Prof. (Dr.) Ashish Semwal is its founding vice chancellor. Teaching is spread across several schools: Engineering, including B.Tech in Civil Engineering Agriculture and applied sciences Pharmacy and nursing, including B.Sc Nursing and GNM Management, commerce and BBA Hotel management and tourism Law and legal studies Education (B.Ed), computer applications and animation Disaster management and doctoral (Ph.D.) research Programmes run at diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate level. The university says it is now expanding into AI, data science, drones and applied research, with a focus on practical uses in farming, hospitality and small business. Field visits are part of the teaching. Law students have visited a jail, and other student groups have toured AIIMS Rishikesh. About 1,900 students are enrolled, and the institution counts more than 11,000 alumni from its years as a group of colleges.
