About Malla Reddy College of Engineering & Technology
History and Background
About Malla Reddy College of Engineering & Technology, Hyderabad Malla Reddy College of Engineering & Technology (MRCET) started in 2004 as one of the colleges of the Malla Reddy Group of Institutions. The campus is at Maisammaguda, near Dhulapally and Kompally in Medchal district, on the northern edge of Hyderabad. It is set back from the main city roads, and the grounds are planted with trees and gardens. MRCET is an autonomous institution under UGC and is permanently affiliated to JNTU Hyderabad. It is approved by AICTE and recognised under Sections 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act. The college holds NBA Tier-I accreditation and a NAAC A grade, is ISO 9001:2015 certified and has been recognised as a scientific and industrial research organisation by the Government of India. It also has an AICTE Institution Innovation Council. Programmes on offer include: B.Tech in CSE and its specialisations (AI and ML, Cyber Security, IoT, Data Science), AI and ML, AI and Data Science, ECE, EEE, IT, Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering M.Tech in Computer Science, Systems and Signal Processing, Machine Design and Aerospace Engineering MBA In B.Tech, 70 percent of seats are filled through TG EAPCET counselling under the college code MLRD. The other 30 percent are management quota seats filled under JNTU rules, and fees for the 2025–28 block period follow the TAFRC order. Diploma holders can join the second year through ECET for up to 20 percent of the intake. M.Tech admission is based on GATE or the JNTU entrance, and the MBA requires a bachelor's degree. Boys and girls stay in separate hostel buildings. The open-access central library keeps several copies of core textbooks. Students also have sports grounds for inter-college and inter-university events, college transport, a training and placement office, an R&D cell with a technology business incubator, and EDC and IIPC cells.
