It was established in 1920 and is one of the oldest universities in India. LU has recognition from UGC, AICTE, ACU, AIU, and DEC. Further, it has been accredited with NAAC ‘A++’ Grade . Lucknow University has 5 56 affiliated colleges, 17 institutes, and 47 departments , imparting quality education in the fields of Arts, Engineering & Technology, Unani, Commerce, Education, Law, and Fine Arts to name a few. LU courses encompass UG, PG, and Doctorate programs offered through 11 faculties . Lucknow University admission is based on entrance exam scores followed by counselling conducted by the university. LU Admissions to B.Tech course is based on JEE Mains scores while MBA admissions are based on CAT scores . The university conducted the UG Entrance Test (UGET) for UG course admissions and the PG Entrance Test (PGET) for PG course admissions.  Lucknow University Placement is conducted through CPC (Counseling and Placement Cell).
