About Leo Academy of Hospitality and Tourism Management, Hyderabad Leo Academy of Hospitality and Tourism Management (LAHTM) is a hotel management institute in Hyderabad, Telangana. It was started in 2007 by the Leo Educational Society. In 2020 the management changed, and the academy now runs under the Atchut Institute of Excellence name while keeping the Leo Academy brand. The degree course here is the Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT), affiliated to Osmania University. Alongside it, the academy runs a Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management and shorter craft courses, which come under the Telangana State Board of Technical Education and Training. An intermediate-level vocational stream is linked to the Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education. Applications can be made online or at the admission office, and selection is based on eligibility, document checks and a personal interview. For BHMCT the academy asks that students be under 20 years of age, while diploma applicants need to be over 18. All courses begin in July or August, with no mid-year intake. Training mixes classroom teaching with practical sessions and industry exposure, and the academy offers placement support at the end of the course. Students also take part in hospitality events and cultural programmes during the year, which gives them a feel for live service before they move into jobs in hotels, catering and tourism.
