About LEAD College of Management
History and Background
About LEAD College of Management, Palakkad LEAD, short for Leadership and Entrepreneurship Academy, is a residential management college at Dhoni in Palakkad district, Kerala. It began in 2010 with a first batch of 58 students and has since become an autonomous college affiliated to the University of Calicut. Its programmes are approved by AICTE, and the MBA is accredited by the NBA. The college offers two main programmes. The MBA puts weight on entrepreneurship and leadership, with live projects and an internship in every semester. The MCA covers artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud computing and data science, and includes a one-year internship. Digital marketing, analytics and robotics are built into the curriculum of both. Dr. Thomas George K., a Guinness World Record holder, is closely involved in mentoring students. MBA applicants need a bachelor's degree with at least 50 percent marks (45 percent for OBC, a pass for SC/ST), and final-year students may apply. MCA applicants need a degree with Mathematics at Class 12 or graduation level and at least 50 percent aggregate. Half the MBA seats are filled on merit and half under the management quota. Applications are taken only through the college's online portal, and selection looks at more than marks, through LEAD's own uLEAD process. The Dhoni campus is fully residential and much of its power comes from solar panels. The college also hosts an inter-college management and cultural fest each October that draws teams from several hundred colleges.
