Krishna Vishwa Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Karad, was formerly Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences Deemed to be University. The university page says the Ministry of Human Resource Development notified deemed status on 24 May 2005 (F.9-15/2001-U.3). The Ministry of Education renamed it Krishna Vishwa Vidyapeeth on 21 November 2022. The registered office on that page is Near Dhebewadi Road, Malkapur 415539, Taluka Karad, District Satara. The city on this record stays Karad. Krishna Charitable Hospital and Medical Research Centre was commissioned with 200 beds in 1982. Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences was established in 1984. The campus is described as 57 acres. Constituent faculties named on the about page are Medical, Dental, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Science and Technology, with Ph.D. and post-doctoral work.
