About JSS Medical College
History and Background
JSS Medical College is in Mysuru, Karnataka, and started in 1984-85. It was affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences from 1995-96 and is now a constituent college of JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, a deemed university under Section 3 of the UGC Act since 2008. It admits 250 MBBS students a year and offers MD, MS and diploma courses in 23 disciplines plus five super-speciality courses such as DM Medical Gastroenterology and DM Neurology. Its teaching hospital, JSS Hospital, was accredited by NABH in March 2019. In NIRF 2025 the college was ranked 37th among medical colleges.
