About JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Lucknow JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Lucknow is the Lucknow learning centre of the JD Institute network, a design education group based in New Delhi that has been training students for about 30 years. The Lucknow centre opened on 1 March 2006 on Faizabad Road under its directors Sandeep Gola and Shipra Anand. It moved to Hazratganj in 2011 and now works from Surajdeep Complex on Jopling Road, near Dainik Jagran Chauraha, in central Lucknow. The centre teaches fashion, interior, communication and jewellery design, and runs courses ranging from short certificates to degrees. The degree programmes are offered in industrial collaboration with partner universities, which award the degrees: B.Des. Fashion Design and B.Des. Communication Design (four years), and M.Des. Fashion Design, with Subharti University B.Sc. and M.Sc. Interior Design, with Subharti University B.FD (three years), with Bhagwan Mahavir University, Surat Advanced diplomas in fashion design and interior design (two years) One-year diplomas in fashion business management and global event management Short certificates in fashion styling, jewellery design, pattern making, visual merchandising, fashion photography, Vastu Shastra and make-up artistry Applicants sit JD's General Aptitude Test, and the institute runs scholarship programmes for selected students.
