About Jaya Engineering College
History and Background
About Jaya Engineering College, Chennai Jaya Engineering College is at Thiruninravur, on the western outskirts of Chennai. It was set up in 1995 by the Jaya Educational Trust, which is based in the same locality. The college has Telugu linguistic minority status, so part of its intake is reserved for students from that community. The college is approved by AICTE, New Delhi, and affiliated to Anna University, Chennai, which sets the syllabus and conducts the semester exams. It has gone through NAAC assessment, and some of its programmes have been evaluated by NBA. The course list covers most of the standard engineering branches and a couple of rarer ones: B.E. Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Electronics, and Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering B.E. Civil and Aeronautical Engineering, along with Mechanical Engineering B.Tech Information Technology and B.Tech Textile Technology The college also has postgraduate engineering and management programmes. Undergraduate admission is through Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counselling, along with the minority and management quotas. Postgraduate seats are filled using TANCET, and GATE scorers can apply for M.E. courses. The college offers merit scholarships for high scorers and admits students under a sports quota. Both are useful for applicants who don't get a seat in the general TNEA rounds.
