History and Background

About Institute of Information Technology and Management (IITM), Delhi The Institute of Information Technology and Management (IITM) is at D-29, Institutional Area, Janakpuri, in West Delhi. Mata Leelawati Shikshan Sansthan, a registered education society, set it up in 1999. The founder president of both the society and the institute was the late T. N. Chaturvedi, a former Comptroller and Auditor General of India and former Governor of Karnataka. IITM is affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), approved by the AICTE and recognised under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act. It holds an A grade from NAAC and NBA accreditation. The Delhi government's fee regulation committee has rated it A+, and its Joint Admission Committee places it in the highest A category. The institute started with a single BCA batch of 60 students and nine teachers. Programmes were added over the next two decades: BCA (from 1999) and BBA (from 2003), each with an evening shift since 2007 MBA, which began as a PGDM in 2008 and became an MBA in 2012 B.Com (Hons), started in 2017, with a second shift from 2019 MCA, restarted in 2023-24 BA in Journalism and Mass Communication, from 2023-24 Since these are GGSIPU programmes, admission goes through the university's centralised counselling, based on IPU CET scores or, for some courses, CUET or CAT/CMAT scores as the university notifies each year. The campus sits on a 0.78-acre plot allotted by the DDA in 2000 and has since grown upward, with smart classrooms, Mac and graphics labs, a multimedia studio and a MOOCs recording room. The institute runs seven NSS units and an NCC unit, and students have been placed with firms such as TCS, Genpact, Wipro and IBM.

(i) Pre-University Examination (Two years after ten years of schooling) of an Indian school / college.
