About Indira Gandhi Engineering College
History and Background
Indira Gandhi Engineering College, Sagar, was set up by the Government of Madhya Pradesh in November 1981 as Government Engineering College Sagar and was renamed later. It first worked from a site near Dr. Hari Singh Gour University. In December 1986 it moved to new buildings on 220 acres near Baheriya village. The college was first affiliated to Sagar University and has been affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal, since 2000. It is recognised by AICTE and the state government has declared it autonomous.
