The Indian Institute of Management (Tiruchirappalli), mostly referred to as IIM Trichy or IIMT, was established in the academic year of 2011. It is a public graduate business school that was founded with the approval of the Government of India. It is one of the thirteen IIMs in India and one of the seven IIMs set up during the Eleventh Five-Year Plan. The institute was previously guided by IIM Bangalore and was later given ‘Autonomous’ status. The institute has also been approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). It is an institute of national importance. The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) has ranked IIMT 27 th in management school ranking. The students of IIM Trichy are provided with a facility called Learning Resource Center which is equipped with various learning sources such as books, newspapers, electronic resources, magazines, etc. The entire campus is enabled with Wi-Fi making information accessibility easier. The institute conducts various guest lectures to keep students updated. Besides, the institute conducts several events every year. The cultural and management fest held at the institute is ‘Dhruva’.
