About Erode Sengunthar Engineering College
History and Background
About Erode Sengunthar Engineering College, Erode Erode Sengunthar Engineering College is located at Thudupathi near Perundurai in Erode district, Tamil Nadu. The Erode Sengunthar Educational Trust started it in 1996 to give young people from both the town and nearby villages a route into engineering. The trust already ran higher secondary and matriculation schools before it opened the college. The college is approved by AICTE and affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. Seven of its undergraduate programmes hold permanent affiliation. It has NAAC accreditation, and several programmes are accredited by NBA. Chemical Engineering, for example, has held NBA accreditation since 2009. Chemical Engineering is one of the oldest departments, started in the founding year. Its labs have received research grants from AICTE, MoES, SERB, CSIR, DRDO and TNSCST. The college offers B.E. and B.Tech degrees in the usual core and computing branches, along with Information Technology. Postgraduate options include M.E./M.Tech, MBA and MCA, and some departments supervise PhD research. B.E. and B.Tech seats are filled through TNEA counselling, which ranks students on their Class 12 marks. The rest go through the management quota. M.E., MBA and MCA admissions use TANCET, and GATE scores are accepted for postgraduate engineering.
