About Dr CV Raman University, Bilaspur Dr. C.V. Raman University (CVRU) was set up in 2006 on Kargi Road at Kota, in Bilaspur district, and says it was the first private university in Chhattisgarh. It belongs to the AISECT group, which runs skill and higher education programmes across India. The university is recognised by UGC and approved by AICTE, NCTE and BCI, so it can run engineering, teacher education and law programmes on the same campus.
