History and Background
About Dr Akhilesh Das Gupta Institute of Technology and Management, Delhi The college students first knew as ADGITM now goes by the name Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta Institute of Professional Studies (ADGIPS). It is a private self-financed institute at FC-26, Shastri Park, in east Delhi, set up in 2003 by the Babu Banarasi Das Educational Society (BBDES) of Lucknow, which also runs the BBD group of institutions. The campus covers about 8.08 acres. It has five connected blocks with a built-up area of around 23,600 square metres, holding classrooms, laboratories, a central library and sports facilities. All programmes are affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU). The engineering and management courses are approved by AICTE, and the law courses by the Bar Council of India. The Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, Mechanical and Civil Engineering departments are accredited by NBA. The institute offers 13 programmes across three schools: Engineering: B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, AI and Machine Learning, AI and Data Science, Electronics and Communication, Mechanical and Civil Engineering Law: B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) Management: BBA and MBA Seats are filled through GGSIPU's centralised counselling, based on the national entrance tests the university accepts for each course, such as JEE Main for B.Tech and CLAT for the integrated law degrees. A management quota is also available. The institute publishes a fee break-up for each academic year on its website. The institute reports that its students have won 42 GGSIPU gold medals. B.Tech students do six-week in-house training programmes run with technology firms, and the institute organises industrial visits and national and international conferences. It also publishes a research journal, Anveshan Patrika. Placement results are announced every year through notices on the website, and students have access to AICTE's student development schemes.
