History and Background

About Dolphin (PG) College of Life Sciences, Chandigarh Dolphin (PG) College is on the Chandigarh-Sirhind state highway (SH-12A) at Chunni Kalan, in Fatehgarh Sahib district of Punjab, about 20 km from Chandigarh. It opened in 2006, sponsored by the Yuva Education Society, New Delhi, and its chairman is Dr. Vinod Mittal. The Punjab government approved it in December 2005. It is affiliated to Punjabi University, Patiala, which renamed it in 2014 as Dolphin (P.G.) College of Excellence in Paramedical and Life Sciences. Its website now uses the name Dolphin (PG) College of Science and Agriculture. The college began with life sciences and agriculture, then added a large paramedical wing. It says it was the first college in Punjab to start M.Sc Medical Biotechnology and M.Sc Microbial Biotechnology, the first in North India to offer B.Sc Agri Business Management, and the first private college under Punjabi University to run M.Sc Zoology. In 2016 it received MHRD awards as the best agriculture college and the best fisheries college in Punjab. Current programmes include: B.Sc (Hons.) in Operation Theatre Technology, Anaesthesia Technology, Cardiac Care Technology, and Forensic Sciences B.Sc in Medical Radiology and Imaging Technology M.Sc Cardiac Care Technology, plus Master's courses in Anaesthesia and OT Technology, Optometry, and Dialysis Therapy Technology, with admission through MRSPTU Agriculture and life science degrees at undergraduate and postgraduate level The agriculture side has a poly house, a farm, a botanical garden and a plant tissue culture laboratory. The campus has Wi-Fi and separate hostels and playgrounds for boys and girls.
