About Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering (DSCE)
History and Background
About Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering (DSCE), Bangalore Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering was founded in 1979 on the Dayananda Sagar Institutions campus at Kumaraswamy Layout, in south Bengaluru near Jayaprakash Narayan Nagar. It is run by the Mahatma Gandhi Vidya Peetha Trust, which the late R. Dayananda Sagar set up in 1960. The trust now manages 28 educational institutions and a group of multi-speciality hospitals. DSCE began with four basic branches: Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics Engineering. It is now an autonomous institute affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) and approved by AICTE and the UGC. It holds an A grade from NAAC in its second cycle, valid until June 2027, and has taken part in the ARIIA innovation rankings. The undergraduate list has grown well past the original four branches. B.E. programmes include: Computer Science and Engineering, with Data Science, Cyber Security, and IoT and Cyber Security (including Blockchain) options Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Electronics and Communication, Electronics and Instrumentation, Electronics and Telecommunication, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering Aeronautical, Automobile, Mechanical, Civil and Biotechnology The college also offers B.Arch, postgraduate programmes and doctoral research under VTU. B.E. seats are filled through Karnataka CET counselling, COMEDK UGET and the management quota. B.Arch applicants need a NATA score, M.Tech applicants use PGCET or GATE, and MBA applicants can use PGCET or CAT. The wider Dayananda Sagar group also runs colleges in dental sciences, pharmacy, nursing, allied health, management and the sciences.
