About Charotar University of Science and Technology (CHARUSAT), Anand CHARUSAT is a state private university at Changa, off the Petlad-Nadiad highway in Anand district, Gujarat. It got university status on 7 July 2009 under Gujarat State Act No. 8 of 2009 and is empowered by UGC under Section 22 of the UGC Act to award degrees. The sponsoring body is Shri Charotar Moti Sattavis Patidar Kelavani Mandal, a non-profit trust formed in 1994. The university holds a NAAC A+ grade. The university grew out of the Education Campus Changa. Its first college opened in 2000 as Charotar Institute of Technology, with 240 students and four programmes, and is now called Chandubhai S Patel Institute of Technology (CSPIT). A computer applications institute followed in 2002, Ramanbhai Patel College of Pharmacy in 2004, a management institute in 2006, and P D Patel Institute of Applied Sciences in 2007. Physiotherapy and nursing colleges opened in 2009. Their names today are Ashok and Rita Patel Institute of Physiotherapy and Manikaka Topawala Institute of Nursing. Today the campus has nine institutes under six faculties, running more than 72 programmes for around 7,500 students. The main options are: B.Tech and M.Tech at CSPIT and the other technology institutes BCA, B.Sc IT and M.Sc IT in computer applications B.Pharm and M.Pharm BBA, MBA and MBA (International Business) B.Sc and M.Sc in applied sciences, including microbiology, biotechnology and organic chemistry Physiotherapy, B.Sc and Post Basic B.Sc Nursing, and allied health courses such as medical imaging and operation theatre technology There are also PG diplomas, such as clinical hypnosis and environmental auditing, and doctoral research in each faculty.
