History and Background
About BN College of Engineering & Technology, Lucknow BN College of Engineering and Technology, usually shortened to BNCET, is on NH-24 Sitapur Road at Bakshi Ka Talab, on the northern edge of Lucknow. It opened in 2008 under the Baij Nath Charitable and Educational Trust, which runs the college together with a polytechnic and other professional courses on the same campus. The degree programmes are affiliated to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow, and approved by AICTE. The diploma courses in the polytechnic wing come under the Board of Technical Education, Uttar Pradesh. So a student can start with a diploma and later join the B.Tech through lateral entry on the same campus. Programmes on offer include: B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical and Civil Engineering M.Tech in selected branches MBA Polytechnic diplomas in engineering trades such as Civil, Mechanical and Electrical, plus pharmacy courses B.Tech and MBA admissions follow AKTU's counselling, which uses JEE Main ranks for engineering and the university's process for management. Diploma admissions go through the UP Joint Entrance Examination (Polytechnic) and the state board's counselling.
