About Bhagwan Buddha Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital

History and Background

About Bhagwan Buddha Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Bangalore Bhagawan Buddha Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital is a homoeopathy college in Mallathalli, on the western side of Bangalore, off the 40 Feet BDA Road in NGEF Layout. It was set up in 1996 by the Buddha Education Society, a trust registered in 1982 and led by Sri K. Chandrashekar. The college is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Karnataka, which conducts its examinations and awards the degree. The society turned to homoeopathy while looking for a low-cost way to bring primary health care to people who cannot afford expensive treatment, and the college grew out of that aim. An attached hospital gives students clinical exposure, and patients from the surrounding neighbourhoods come there for treatment. The main programme is the Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS). It runs for five and a half years: four and a half years of study followed by a one-year compulsory rotatory internship, as laid down by the national regulator for homoeopathy. Subjects across the course include: Toxicology and the pre-clinical subjects of the early years Homoeopathic Materia Medica, Organon of Medicine and Homoeopathic Philosophy Repertory and Case Taking Practice of Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and Community Medicine To be eligible, students must have passed two-year Pre-University (Class 12) with Physics, Chemistry and Biology, including practicals, from a recognised board. BHMS seats are filled through counselling based on NEET-UG. RGUHS publishes the results, and the college posts them on its website.
