About Ambedkar Institute of Advanced Communication Technologies & Research
History and Background
About Ambedkar Institute of Advanced Communication Technologies & Research, Delhi The Ambedkar Institute of Advanced Communication Technologies and Research, known as AIACTR, now operates as the East Campus of Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT). In 2020 the Government of NCT of Delhi expanded NSUT into two more campuses. AIACTR at Geeta Colony became the East Campus, and Ch. Brahm Prakash Government Engineering College at Jaffarpur became the West Campus. Students applying today will find its seats listed under NSUT. The campus is at Geeta Colony in East Delhi and covers about 7.8 acres. Sheila Dikshit, then Chief Minister, laid the foundation stone on 24 May 2006. The PWD finished the buildings in about 18 months. The campus has central air-conditioning, a playground, rainwater harvesting and its own nursery, and the local municipal zone has recognised it for zero-waste management. As its old name suggests, the institute was built around communication and computing. Its academic programmes include: B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering M.Tech in Digital Communication and Networking, Information Security, Radio Frequency Design and Technology, and Systems and Signal Processing Since the merger, B.Tech admission follows NSUT's process, with seats allotted on JEE Main ranks through the Joint Admission Counselling for Delhi universities. M.Tech admission is mainly through GATE. The East Campus departments, such as ECE and CSE, still note on their pages that they were formerly part of AIACTR. NSUT as a whole was placed third among government state and deemed technical universities in the ARIIA innovation ranking.
