About AKS University, Satna AKS University is a private state university in Satna, Madhya Pradesh, set up under Madhya Pradesh Act No. 44 of 2011. It is recognised by the UGC under Section 2(f). The promoters are the people behind the Rajiv Gandhi Group of Institutions in Satna, which began in 1996 when four brothers, Anant Kumar Soni, Avanish Kumar Soni, Ajay Kumar Soni and Amit Kumar Soni, opened Rajiv Gandhi Computer College. The group later added Rajiv Gandhi College in 2000 and, in 2006, a pharmacy institute that it says was the first in the Vindhya region to offer B.Pharm. Satna is known for its limestone and cement plants, and the university has shaped a good part of its teaching around the industries nearby. Along with the usual engineering, management and science courses, it runs programmes few other universities offer: Mining Engineering and Cement Technology B.Tech in Electrical Engineering with Cables and Wire Technology B.Tech CSE with AI and Data Science, or Robotics and AI Agriculture Science, Agricultural Engineering and Food Technology Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Law, Education and Commerce Fashion Designing, Yoga and Spiritual Studies Polytechnic diplomas, including a Diploma in Veterinary Science The university describes a 60-20-20 teaching model, where most classes are taken by its own faculty, a fifth by adjunct teachers from other institutions, and the rest by people working in industry, often through live online lectures. Students get internships and practical training with regional cement, cable, mining and agriculture businesses. Admission to most undergraduate and postgraduate courses is handled by the university on the basis of qualifying marks, while programmes such as pharmacy and law follow the eligibility norms of their national regulators.
