About AISSMS College of Engineering, Pune AISSMS College of Engineering stands on Kennedy Road, close to the centre of Pune, in a multi-storey building rather than a suburban campus. It is run by the All India Shri Shivaji Memorial Society. Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj of Kolhapur founded the society in 1917, and it opened the engineering college in 1992 with three branches. The college is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University, approved by AICTE, and recognised by the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra. It has UGC recognition under Sections 2(f) and 12(B). NAAC gave it an A+ grade in its second cycle in 2024, valid until May 2029, and six undergraduate programmes hold NBA accreditation. SPPU has also named it the Best Professional College in the urban category. Undergraduate engineering is taught in eight streams: Computer Engineering, with a second-shift batch Electrical, Electronics and Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Mechanical Engineering, including a sandwich programme Civil, Chemical and Production Engineering Postgraduate courses cover seven specialisations, from structural engineering to power electronics and automotive engineering, and PhD research centres are open in departments including Computer and Mechanical Engineering. Undergraduate admission follows the Maharashtra CAP rounds based on MHT CET or JEE Main, while ME/M.Tech seats go through GATE.
