History and Background
Adi Shankara Institute of Engineering and Technology (ASIET) is at Vidya Bharathi Nagar, Mattoor, Kalady, Ernakulam district, Kerala, PIN 683574. The Adi Sankara Trust opened the college on 31 August 2001. It is a self-financing institute, approved by AICTE. It started under Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, and has been affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University since 2015. The college offers B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA and Ph.D. programmes. Undergraduate branches named on its site include Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence), Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science), Electronics and Biomedical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Robotics and Automation. The college states that Civil, CSE, ECE, EEE and Mechanical Engineering are NBA-accredited, and that NAAC awarded an A grade in the first cycle. It also states that it was the first self-financing engineering college in Kerala to receive ISO 9001:2008 certification.
